RQT Co-Captain Interview with Tara Aurelium
Rorey Padfoot (Hufflepuff)
I was lucky enough to get a rare interview with one of the Co-Captains of the Ravenclaw Quidditch Team, Tara Aurelium.
Rorey – So Tara how are you doing today?
Tara -I’m good, thanks. Enjoying some Ben & Jerry’s while answering this.
Rorey – Sounds delicious. I guess I’ll dive right in, how long have you been on RQT?
Tara – Since… summer ’07, I guess? Almost two and a half years ago, oh wow. I discovered the wonders of quidditch shortly after joining in July, and soon after I had my try out.
Rorey – Wow pretty much right after you joined HOL then huh? How long have you been Co-Captain?
Tara – Kyrie and I were made Co-Captains somewhere in April, but it was still unofficial. I honestly have no idea when it WAS made official; I’m pretty sure it was a bit after our last game/last game of the season. I suck with dates if they’re not quidditch-related dates, apparently.
Rorey – Well, a late congrats then. How does the team look so far this year?
Tara – Lookin’ good! We have our wonderful oldies as well as a couple of awesome newbies with us this year, and so far I’m feeling pretty good about this year thanks to them.
Rorey – So, is the team this year different than from last year?
Tara - It’s not too different, really, with the exception of new players. Once psychos, always psychos, ne? We still have the crazy freaks (<3 freaks!) from last year with us, the newbies and returning members from years past, which is all around fantastic.
Rorey – That’s good to hear. What is your favorite team memory so far?
Tara – That’s a toughie. I’d say there’s a tie between my first game ever and my first game as a co-cap. I was so extremely nervous during both of them, and so excited and happy after they ended. Though really, pretty much every game I’ve played so far was extremely fun and left fond memories thanks to the crazy conversations that go on in our team room during the games, haha.
Rorey – Hehe that’s so awesome that the team has a close bond with each other. Any predictions for who’s going to win the Quidditch Cup or House Cup this year?
Tara – I honestly have no idea about the House Cup, I’m not really into that. I get enough points/quills to pass the year and I’m happy with myself. As for the Quidditch Cup… well, I think it’s really too early to tell. As far as I know, all teams have some promising new members, some of which we still haven’t seen in action since SQL. You never know how they might surprise you.
Rorey – So very true. If someone was interested in join the RQT (Ravenclaws only of course) how would they go about that?
Tara – There’s a thread in the Roost (Ravenclaw’s CR) with all of the details you need to know, instructions and all. Here’s the link: http://forum.roosted.org/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=5748 (You might have to register first to view it).
Rorey – Any suggestions on how Ravenclaws could support the team even if they are unable to be on the team?
Tara – Yeaaah, that’s always been a bit of a problem. We used to have a cheer squad, but it never really worked out – most of its members were regular players of the team, so there was really almost no one left to actually cheer. You don’t really need a cheer squad to cheer for someone though, so feel free to join the #grandstand channel during our games and cheer on us!
Rorey – Do you hear that Ravenclaws? Come on out and cheer for your team during the games. It helps keep their spirits up. Thanks again for taking the time and I wish the RQT best of luck this year.
Tara – Thanks, good luck to all of the other teams too!
