Vol. 4, Issue 21

Whoooaaaaah there! Another one of these?! Yes it is! I’m actually quite tickled at the amount of submissions I’ve gotten for this issue, and had a hard time deciding what goes on the front page!

First off, a welcome to Scarlet Leslie, who is the newest addition to the Alte editing team. Also, congrats to Amanda P. X. Sim for being the Brain Challenge winner from the last issue! And thanks goes to Alexander Backwood, who is providing The Alte with the quote of the issue. Beans will be awarded to you both shortly after publication.

Well done, all, and please remember to check out the rest of the articles that you can’t find at the front. They’re all bound to be interesting reads. Anyway, here’s a summary of what’s in the issue:

Advertisements: Get ready, eagles, because Ravenclaw Pride Month is coming to you in March! The Alte and Ravenclaw Library are always looking for more recruits, of course, and the Ravenclaw Quidditch Team is always accepting new members. Don’t forget to check out HOL’s Pen Pal Club, Book Club, and for the first years lost, the First Friend Project.

Articles: Take a look at a close-up of the newly appointed HOL Headmaster, as well as check out an interview of prefect Niniel Sanders.  Zoki dishes out some advice to first years, Alexia and Kyrie give the 411 of what NOT to do in Ravenclaw, and Aylarah entices with a love for writing. Additionally, Rorey regales us with a Valentine’s special.

Columns: I’d like to welcome a new addition to the Alte columnists: Aylarah Scale, who will now tickle our tastebuds with her Delectable Dishes. Jenna praises The Hunger Games, and Cassie doles out a few random awards.

Puzzles: Another Ravenclaw Brain Challenge is on the loose! Remember to send answers for a chance to win some beans! Rorey has also provided some playing with words, and scented logic.

Reviews: Hermionie and the Muppets take over, Jenna spells us with her Eastwick review, and Cassie sneaks into Howl’s Moving Castle.

Scientifics: Silmarien unveils the truth of ebola, and Scarlet recounts her tales of the slopes of Killington.

Showcase: Zoki has provided us a fabulous Valentine poem for the season.

Whew, that was a fingerful! I am definitely looking forward to getting submissions once again for the next issue. Please take note that I am taking ideas and submissions for next issue until March 31. Please send all queries and submissions to alte.sententiam@gmail.com. Thanks!
