Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol

Your mission, should you choose to accept it, is to watch Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol.

Impossible Mission Force (IMF) agent Ethan Hunt (Tom Cruise) is extracted from prison by agents Jane Carter and Benji Dunn, who was recently promoted to the field. They need Hunt's help to recover a lost file (though Carter lost more than just a file in the previous mission) and find a person of interest code-named Cobalt. The team must infiltrate the heavily fortified Kremlin in Moscow to recover the file. However, Cobalt beats them to it. A bomb destroys all the evidence along the Kremlin and the Russians pin the blame on Hunt's team and IMF.

The secretary of the IMF rescues Hunt. He explains that the President of the United States had to activate "Ghost Protocol," which shuts down all of IMF. Hunt and his team are now rogue. They must find Cobalt and prove that they were not behind the bombing. William Brandt, an intelligence analyst with superb survival skills, identifies the man Hunt believes to be Cobalt as Kurt Hendricks. Hendricks is a mad Russian nuclear strategist who believes nuclear war is necessary to rid the world of the weak to prepare for the next stage of human evolution.

Hunt, Carter, Dunn, and Brandt follow Hendricks to Dubai then to Mumbai to try to prevent nuclear war and re-establish the reputation of the IMF.

Brad Bird (The Incredibles, Ratatouille) is very successful in his live action movie debut. Not to disappoint die-hard Pixar fans, "A113" found its way into Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol. If you get a chance to see this movie in IMAX, do it. The scenes in the city and desert are majestic and breathtaking. The explosions literally move your eyes across the screen. The gadgets are all very impressive and plausible, but, as we all know, technology certainly is not flawless. Quite a few laughs also erupt throughout the theater. It gets your heart pumping and even touches your heart.

This installment of Mission Impossible shifts the focus from the character of Ethan Hunt and puts a larger emphasis on teamwork. With limited resources and several gadget malfunctions, the team of four can only rely on each other, sometimes having to take leaps of faith.

You have 2 hours and 13 minutes to enjoy a fast-paced action film with spectacular cars, high-tech gadgets, and elaborate explosions. Good luck.
