Quidditch Logic

October 2013 Shiloh Adlar

The Ravenclaw Quidditch Team decided it was time for everyone to take a “vacation” and report in on other quidditch teams around the world. They went to five different places, each place having a reputable team of each its own. It took 1-5 weeks for everyone to travel and they each flew on a different broom. Determine which country each person went to (one which was Brazil), how long it took them to travel and what broom they flew.

1. Arielle traveled to Peru, but not on a Nimbus. Surprisingly, the Nimbus 2001 reached its destination before any other broom. The Cleansweep 11 went to South America.
2. Kyrie did not go to South America and took 2 weeks less to get to her destination than the person who flew the Nimbus 2000. The Nimbus 2000 traveled to a subcontinent while the Nimbus 2001 stayed in Europe.
3. The Firebolt did not travel to a country starting with the letter ‘B,’ and it took 2 weeks less to travel than the broom Edmund flew.
4. The female who took 3 weeks flew to India. Silmarien was faster.
5. The five people are Charz, the male who flew the Comet 290, the one who travelled to Bulgaria, the one who went to Norway, and the one who took 5 weeks.

From the puzzle you solved, unscramble the anagram to get the answer to this question. Who was the first person to fashion the golden snitch (first and last name)?

1. The second letter of the country Silmarien visited.
2. The third letter of the country Arielle visited.
3. The second letter of the person’s name who flew the Nimbus 2000.
4. The sixth letter in the name of the broom that went to Peru.
5. The fifth letter of the person’s name who took 4 weeks to travel.
6. The fourth letter of the country Kyrie flew to.
7. The first letter of the country the Comet 290 was flown to.
8. The first letter of the person’s name who took the longest to travel.
9. The last letter of the broom that went to Norway.
10. The answer to number 4.
11. The third letter of the broom that went to Brazil.
12. The second letter of the brooms containing the same name.
